CPR mass demo, ikakasa ng Ph Red Cross



Manila, Philippines – Magdaraos ang Philippine Red Cross (PRC) ng ‘mass cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) demonstration’ ngayong buwan na ang layunin ay maturuan ang mga pamilyang Pinoy ng naturang ‘life-saving skill.


Ayon kay PRC Chairman Richard Gordon, ito’y kasabay nang paggunita ng National CPR Day nitong Miyerkoles.


Sinabi ni Gordon na target nilang magkaroon ng ‘first aiders’ sa bawat tahanan at pook trabahuhan, na siyang magbibigay ng first aid sa mga miyembro ng pamilya sakaling magkaroon ng emergency.


Aniya, sa ilalim ng naturang proyekto, magtutungo ang mga staff at personnel ng PRC sa may 110 na mga paaralan, mga tanggapan at mga pampublikong lugar at pasyalan, upang magturo kung paano ang pagsasagawa ng ‘hands-only CPR’.


“We have our volunteers nationwide, but no first responder can respond as quickly as a neighbor, a family member, and a co-worker. When that person knows first aid, further injuries and loss of lives can be averted,” paliwanag ni Gordon.


Hiningi umano nila ang tulong ng athletic leagues upang siyang mag-perform ng buong CPR cycle.


Isasagawa ng PRC ang mass CPR campaign, katuwang ang Department of Health, Philippine Heart Association, at American Heart Association, upang i-maximize ang Republic Act No. 10871 o ang “Basic Life Support Training Schools Act,” na nagre-require sa basic education students na sumailalim sa age-appropriate basic life-saving training.
