AHA Instructor Course

 

 

How to become an AHA Instructor?

 

     The National Regional Faculty and International Training Center Coordinator will be the one to choose and determine a potential instructor candidate. An AHA provider with exemplary performance during the course will be given an invitation for instructors course.

 

  • Have current AHA provider status in the discipline of the Instructor Course, and be proficient in all the skills of that discipline. Disciplines include BLS , ACLS, PALS , and Heartsaver.

  • Submit a letter of intent addressed to the ITC Coordinator/National Regional Faculty, Dr. Melinda C. Tagle.

  • Complete an Instructor Candidate Application form under Healthforce International Training Center before enrolling in an Instructor Course.  

  • Successfully complete the discipline-specific Instructor Essentials online course, and print the course completion certificate. 

  • Successfully complete the discipline-specific classroom Instructor Course. 

  • Successfully be monitored teaching your first course within six months, at least 2  assist roles and 2 lead roles, after completing the Instructor Course. * Training Center Coordinators may require additional monitoring.

 

Once you become an Instructor, you will have access to the most current emergency cardiovascular care science, course updates, training resources and tools through the online AHA Instructor Network.
